The Frederick Douglass Freedom Alliance remains steadfast in its commitment to biblically grounded policies and supporting candidates who uphold these principles. God’s truth, as we see it, provides the best framework for strong families and thriving communities.
Recently, at a rally for Winsome Sears, protesters displayed signs equating transgender bathroom access to the Civil Rights struggle, with messages like, “If trans can’t use your bathroom, blacks can’t use our toilets.” This comparison is not only offensive but fundamentally misguided. It trivializes the historic fight for racial equality and ignores the distinct issues at play.
America is growing weary of an aggressive leftist agenda that often lacks grounding in science or biblical principles. As president of the Frederick Douglass Freedom Alliance, the largest black grassroots conservative organization in the nation, I say enough is enough. The attempt to cloak the transgender agenda under the banner of civil rights is a distortion that must end.
Liberal elites have long tried to conflate these issues, but their tactics are losing traction. Independent voters, along with Black and Brown Americans, are increasingly seeing through these scare tactics. The Trump administration is delivering on its promise to restore common-sense governance. We reject the days when biological males received accolades like “Woman of the Year” from the First Lady or competed unfairly against women in sports, stripping scholarships and medals from hardworking female athletes.
Our organization proudly supports candidates like Winsome Sears, who operate from a foundation of common sense and biblically sound principles. Recent polling underscores this shift in public sentiment. A New York Times analysis of voter registration data from 30 states and Washington, D.C., between the 2020 and 2024 elections shows a 4.5 million voter swing toward Republicans, with Democrats losing 2.1 million base voters and Republicans gaining 2.4 million. This trend, continuing into 2025, reflects a broader dissatisfaction with the Democratic Party, as evidenced by a July 2025 Wall Street Journal poll showing the party’s favorability at a 35-year low of 33%, with 63% unfavorable. A July 2025 CNN survey reported even lower favorability at 28%.
The American people are ready for policies rooted in truth, reason, and fairness. The Frederick Douglass Freedom Alliance will continue to champion this cause, advocating for a future that honors both common sense and biblical values.
